Umbrella Tree

Named due to the arrangement of its leaves, the blossoms of most Magnolia are in fact edible. With a taste most comparable to the bloom’s scent, and overpowering when raw, petals are picked and pickled in a sweet and sour mixture. Finely chopped, use sparingly as an intense and spicy addition to salads, dressings or in favour of gherkins.
