Kale

Many believe that flowers on a bolted brassica signal the end of a plants usefulness. However, the surprisingly sweet and tender blooms should not be consigned to compost. When sautéed in a little lemon juice or soy sauce the buds and blooms burst forth with flavour. Steamed with other vegetables or wilted greens and drizzled with garlic olive oil they make a delicious side dish.
